Jersey City developer Manchanda Group has posted a rendering showing what the tower that will replace the White Castle at 2995 Kennedy Boulevard in the India Square section of Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood will look like [Manchanda Group].
Manchanda Group bought the property for $13 million from the White Castle System corporation back in 2025 [RE-NJ].
The site is zoned for buildings up to 51 stories, including a 20-story affordable housing bonus for the inclusion of below-market-rate apartments. While the Manchanda Group website lists the building as containing 400 apartments and 500,000 square feet of floor area, no site plan application has yet been filed with Jersey City, and the unit count and floor area listed on Manchanda’s website for another project, 106 Cottage St, differ from the official figures in the site plan application filed with Jersey City [Better Blocks]. Based on those figures, it is likely that the unit count of 400 is not counting the below-market-rent units that must be included in the building.
